Turning Concrete Into Art: How We Use Glass Aggregate for Stunning Floors
At Diamond Finish Floors, we believe concrete should do more than just serve a purpose—it should make a statement. One of our favorite ways to elevate freshly poured concrete is by adding glass aggregate to the mix. The result? A bold, custom look that reflects light, adds texture, and turns a standard slab into something truly unique.
What Is Glass Aggregate?
Glass aggregate is made from finely crushed, recycled glass that’s specially processed for use in decorative concrete. We mix it directly into the concrete before pouring, and once the surface cures, we bring in our high-powered grinders to reveal the beauty underneath.
How It Works
We pour the concrete as usual—but with glass aggregate mixed in.
After the concrete cures, our team uses industrial grinders to carefully grind and polish the surface.
The glass starts to show through, creating a polished, terrazzo-like finish that catches the light and adds dimension.
We seal it for protection and shine—leaving a stunning, durable floor that stands out from the ordinary.
Why Customers Love It
One-of-a-kind look – Every pour is unique. The glass reflects light in ways standard concrete never could.
Eco-friendly – Many glass aggregates are made from recycled materials.
Easy to maintain – Once sealed, these floors are durable, smooth, and simple to clean.
Versatile style – Works beautifully in modern homes, commercial spaces, and even garages or basements.
It’s More Than a Floor—It’s a Feature
This recent project is a perfect example: we poured a new slab, blended in colored glass aggregate, then ground and polished it down. What emerged was a sleek, high-contrast floor with flecks of shimmering glass—a design detail that instantly elevated the entire space.
